    what's next?

So, did they make it thru Charleston, SC yet?

I remember when racing there in April, that boats coming back north would spend some time in the river there...I guess they cane down inside Sullivan's Island (north of Charleston) and have to go inside of James & Johns Island (south of the city) if I recall? Does the ICW curl back around by the Charleston Executive Airport?

Here is a chart of the area. http://www.charts.noaa.gov/OnLineViewer/11518.shtml Zoom in on the upper right chart of the lower group. It shows what Shawn describes and you can see the location of Elliott Cut at the west end of Wappoo Cr south of the harbor. Very narrow and lined with concrete/bricks, what ever the home owners can pile up to keep their property from washing away. Not a good place to lose power. Dan S/V Marian Claire

Fair winds on the next leg Paul and Trina. I really enjoy keeping up with this post. Good to hear still on the move and all is good.

Thanks Mo, you all are making it fun for us too.

It was another fine day on the water... Dolphins playing, a warm sunny afternoon. Finally the sun feels warm
We had the current with us and then against us this area is just weird when it comes to currents and strong too!

We are at the city dock, did laundry had a hot shower.
The question of the day is what is in store with this front comming?
I am not sure but we might get wet tomorrow

So I will be checking the weather for Port Royal Sound for the morning and see when we should leave.

Paul, Just wondering if there is a web cam for that dock. Remember last year we thought we saw the device across from the launching ramp.

Dan..thanks..when you seasoned vets talk about places like Elliott Cut, I now see that it is a place I saw every day when transiting from Johns Island to Charleston to go racing (via car), but had no charts to reference.

We also stayed at Isle of Palms one year, so go to see the other end of it too.

Whenever I travel along the coast, I always try to pick out the ICW.

Hi P & T...had trouble with your AIS signal on marinetraffic.com for the short time I could check today at work...but glad to see you are moving right along.

                Almost to Georgia!

Well, we were going to anchor out at Beaufort, but we figured that once we left the free dock and geared up we'd go to Savannah for a beer

Please note: navigating the ICW at night is not recommended

This track from Beaufort is interesting. I'm assuming it means that your AIS transceiver is portable, not that you brought PT26 into the bathouse!

LOL yes it is on the iPad, it doubles as a kindle book reader for the captain
Gas dock, shower, laundry...my guess is you all can track our every move.
We really don't turn it off because the kids start calling when it is off.
Funny how things change... We want to know where they are all the time and then it switches, how time flies!
Off and running again left Savanna, not sure where we are going but we are going south plenty of the day left.

Looks like they are JUST southeast of this nasty weather system.

Cold & raw here in Southern Maryland.
