Just spent 5 hours "nearly" removing the old hot section on my Ranger 33. The first bend was so close to the flange that I could not get a socket on the bolts. I finally loosened the top bolt with a wrench and a hammer, but there was no way to swing a wrench on the lower bolt. So I used a Sawzall, 5 "heavy metal" blades, and two battery packs to cut the old section away so I could unbolt the flange. NOT FUN.
So, now I need to make a new hot section. I've discovered the reason the first nipple off of the flange was so short. The transmission lever is only 4 inches away from the exhaust flange when in forward. Anyone know if the lever is adjustable? Any ideas how to solve this problem?
