The $64 question for the true A4 expert

I just winterized my water cooled , reduction drive A4. I also cleaned out the drip pan and I discovered a piece of metal from the engine. I have enclosed some views of this piece. Can anyone identify it? I can not see where it came from:

      Note the pipe hanger bracket.

I second the heat exchanger bracket. They're just brazed on - a little corrosion and they pop right off.

Thank u. I think you are right. I had removed the old heat exchanger and replaced it last year. At the time I had not noticed the broken bracket
