        tanks

two boxes on sides are fuel tanks.....they are located pretty much at the center of the boat...but because of their location the access to the cabin is limited.....they seems to be around 5 gal ea....I need to install some seats there...I am thinking of getting rid of the tanks, replace it with two portable 5 gal plastic tanks....

          Wow

Congratulations on a fine purchase. I've never actually seen one of those generators installed. Could be the oldest A4 I've seen. You have a beautiful boat and many interesting projects ahead. Color me green!

I love that boat! Very cool!

What's with the auxiliary ship's wheel on the starboad side? Is that another steering station?

And can you get a good, clear shot of that decal on the manifold, that says "100% Marine Motor"?? I'd really love to see that more clearly - we need to save the graphics for that - it is not that hard to make reproductions.

I also like the green color of that engine.

            Sweet!

            Color me jealous also!

                Good shape

2dogs, looks in pretty good shape for a refurb and not a big one at that. Is that a "dry" exhaust? A project boat with that much characer needs a good name, have you considered any?

Re your tanks, is there an inspection cover on them? If so their cleanable maybe and the originality of them is a plus for character. And if you are going to need to replace them I would not "mount them" until you have had her out for a few romps. IE use a very temporary tank and you may want to mount them for the "trim" while running.

                      label

                      Hi Ilikerust

the "coolness" of the boat was the factor for the purchase
....took more then few pictues of the label...see if this one is good enough
                      original dimensions are: 1 and 11/16" x 4 and 3/8

                          Decals all over the place

Oh man! there's another one on the geaar box too!

Bill, I can give the design a try. I do this sort of stuff for a living. I just don't know where they do decals. I bet more than one of us would like one.

That really is a clean installation you have there 2dogs. I think all you need to do is restore it like it was new.

                            restore it..???? hmmmm

I was going to rip the motor out and stuff it in my 78 Balboa 23'.......just kidding..I do want to restore it...paint it with different color...have some plywood varnished etc.....would love to have somebody help me with paint design ......I know for sure that transom will have new color "frame" with varnished center and boat name gold and black fonts
I would want new labels and prabably many others.....Atomic site would most likelly want to have it in it's inventory...see what you can do.
                            here is 3rd label...dimensions are: 1" and 13/16 x 3 1/2 "
                            this one is breaking up

Can we maybe get another good pic of this one that is readable? I can't see what all that text says.

                              SWEET!

I loves me some old machinery labels and tags. I used to spend a whole lot of time hanging around at the Old Wood Working Machines site, where restoring labels, tags and decals is raised to a high art form. I have restored several old woodworking machines, and still have several waiting for the full-bore resto.

I'm definitely going to save these pics of your tags and labels - very cool.

But please, if you could, see if you can get a better pic of the one on the reversing gear cover - that is so very cool that your engine is so well-preserved! It's like a time capsule!
