I am getting ready to put a late head on my early block, and I noticed that my late head doesn't have as many water ports as my early head on the alternator side of the head. Does anyone know why this is? My guess is to force more water over to the valve side of the cooling jackets.
What were to happen if one were to drill those holes out to allow more water flow?
