Are stainless bolts a good idea?

As I come take out bolts and nuts that should be replaced, I wonder if i can use stainless ones instead. Is this a good idea or a bad one?

I see that you are also inquiring about a new water jacket side plate. I will assume the bolts are for that application. If you have antifreeze cooling the stainless cap screws would be ok but if you have salt water cooling I would not recommend using stainless hardware with that new cover. BTW if you get the new cover from Moyer Marine you will be very pleased and save yourself a lot of work.
