I recently posted a picture of an odd spring-like item in the pulley end of my accessory drive Aux Drive Question (Auxiliary drive, accessory drive... I have a different day job!) and was advised that it is a bad oil seal. My neighbor has a press. Can I pop the old seal out with that and replace it and the bearings? Anybody familiar with the procedure? How do I get the shaft out? Should I use a repair sleeve? Is that for damage to the shaft or the "seal counterface" on the drive housing? (The term came from the SpeedySleeve website).
