I put a sign on my workbench - COMPRESSION stroke!
I also filed a mark on the accessory drive pulley.
Now the clearances repeat correctly after hand cranking a couple dozen times.

Some people wonder why I have a bottle of nail polish in my tool box.

I know where you are coming from. I keep two bottles of Sally Hansen Harder Than Nails clear nail enamel. One with my fly tying stuff and one in the tackle box.

Remember, anything you say here can and will be used against you in a future job application.

It's Revlon pink champagne for all my timing marks. High retroreflectivity ya know.

            valves, compression, etc

This is not a forum. This is beyond a forum. This is too great an experience to be labeled just a forum. I am now proud to say that I can tell #1 TDC while watching the valve chamber. COMPRESSION STROKE.
            Thanks, guys

I love posts like yours Howard. Mark my words, some day you'll be explaining the details of TDC to someone else. That's how it works.
