    Power loss

San diego county lost power for about 7 hours today (9/8/11)...from about 4pm to 11pm.

Record high temps over taxed the power grid and blew power to about 3 million people til 11PM.

I only mention this because my prop was to be installed today but it was (organized) chaos that prevented it.

We suffered in the backyard with a barbecued fish, pasta and Merlot!

    Wow

Jim, I live in the very south end of HB at Brookhurst and on the way home last night at around 4:30pm the traffic south on the 405 was backed up before Beach Blvd. My daughter in law came up from Irvine and was amazed at the snarrled S/B traffic. Many were getting off at Irvine Blvd to avoid the traffic S/B and were even stuck there with the signals still working due to the extra traffic trying to avoid going further south.
What a mess, glad I missed most of it!!

    Good luck with the prop!

Boy...you guys got it tough over there..

This was taken this morning...a week after a hurricane we are getting torrential rains & flooding from the remnants of Lee.

I just hope the bilge pump is able to keep up!

Looking at the dash area I don't think it did.

          haa haa...good observation, Mo!

I drive a silver Civic, but a slightly newer model than that. This is a brackish tributary about 25 miles north west of where I am, which eventually feeds into the Potomac River near Cobb Island I think.

The sun has just made an appearance for the first time in 5 or 6 days..I think I am gonna take off the rest of the afternoon and head to the boat!

I just got back from a sail but the wind was so light I got about 4 miles in 2 hours...sucked....but..............the rum aboard was still good. We might stay aboard tonight...will have to see what the Admiral (wife) says....and since I'm at a base club...I do happen to know the real Admiral pretty good too...came up from the old days and he is still in.

I took this picture an hour before the Power Outage.

The bottle didn't make it through the night.

jim...nice pic..here was mine when my Indigo arrived.

Incidentally, I never made it to the boat. My SUV that got crushed by Irene that I bought for $250 in 2004, I sold today for $200, so I got a little sidetracked with details and that transaction. I'll go to the boat tomorrow! Here is a picture of that. I drove it up onto his trailer.
