      Jabsco 17120-001 Water Pump

      Yes, I have the same pump. The cover/gasket has a lot of salt build-up around it so I figure it's time for a new gasket (and impeller of course) - there is also a small leak from this area but I haven't been able to specifically identify it though I think the salt build up is a clue.

      However, on running my thumb along the edge to knock-off the salt the top bolt head (of only three) just dropped-off. I'm going to try to remove the remaining bolt shaft this weekend but was wondering if it gives me a hard time if this pump is worth the effort. Should I just save-up for a new one from MMI?

        I highly recommend the Moyer 501/502 water pump.
        It is not cheap but once replaced it should last a good long time.
        I bought one that was lightly used from another boater.

          I second the recommendation for Moyer. Mine installed this summer. No more grease fitting either! Sealed bearings from what i understand.
