    If you're wondering.....

....what Don does in his spare time, check out the Scrapple Trail FaceBook page.

At its September 3rd Scrapple Festival, the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company will be raffling off a custom, commercial-grade scrapple slicer designed, built and donated by Don Moyer of Moyer Marine Inc. The slicer is made of high quality stainless and aluminum components and is used by Company members to prep scrapple for the Festival and other events where scrapple is served.

Guests arriving at the Festival will be given a free raffle ticket. A phone number or email address is to be added to the appropriate half of the ticket and deposited in the collection jug at the entrance when leaving. At the next meeting of the Company’s membership after the Festival, the winning ticket will be randomly drawn from those collected and the winner notified. Additional tickets will be available for purchase during the meal.

    Kudos Don

Wow, interesting. I never heard of "scrapple" being a west coaster and had to look it up. So what is the "slicer" and is it powered by an A-4 (ha ha).
I have seen Don's work first hand so I imagine it will be a good one as well as a hit with the crowd.

There are three in existance, and the staff at the fire company keeps theirs locked up.

Minutes after posting the raffle on the Scrapple Trail FB page, there was an offer to purchase, but It is not really affordable at retail. Of course, you could always come to the Scrapple Festival at the Firehouse and take your chances.

ps: Don't Google the list of ingredients. Just find it and enjoy it.

I like the Habbersett brand. Skip the stuff from Aldi's.
Also skip the A4 power. You wouldn't want exhaust fumes interfering with the delicate flavor of the scrapple.
If you're in the area, a search for double smoked bologna is worth some time.

If you follow the Scrapple Trail Facebook page, there are really strong feelings expressed about one brand versus another . Personally, we are big fans of the Sudlersville Metal Locker product. On his first visit there, Don walked out with 25 lbs. of it.
