    This is a moderated forum

    In order to fully utilize the abilities of this forum, we require that you register as a member. Registration is free, and allows you to do the following:

    * Post new threads
    * Reply to other peoples' threads
    * Edit your posts
    * Receive email notification of replies to posts and threads you specify
    * Send private messages to other members
    * Set up a 'buddy-list' to quickly see which of your friends are currently online

    To register, you will need to specify a username and password, and a valid email address. Entering your email address will not leave you open to 'spam', as you can choose to hide your email address, and messages sent to you via email do not reveal your address to the sender in any case. (To verify this, you can try sending an email message to another user.) I have configured the forum to send you the final part of the registration process by email, so ensure that the email address you provide is valid and working.

    Your registration is personally reviewed by me before you are allowed to post a message. That allows us to screen out a good portion of the spammers, but not all. We also personally review your first few postings for appropriateness before moving your status to that of a validated member whose messages are immediately visible for all to see.

    These two steps require time. I occasionally sleep at nite. The benefit is that you're not confronted with ads for sex toys, porno websites, rip-off pocketbooks, cell phones, prescription drugs, etc., when you visit this forum.

    If you lose or forget your user name or password, or just don't give a damn and re-register every time you want to post something, the moderation process starts over. The current record is five different registrations associated with the same email address.

    Some people get angry and downright nasty at having to wait for this moderation process to play out, as if access to this forum were some sort of right, rather than a privilege. Most of the time, I just shrug it off, but every now and then it gets to be a bit much.

    This forum is supported by the highest quality software we can find, and it's not cheap, to say the least. It requires a tremendous amount of time and effort to maintain. We reserve the right to limit both content and participants, at our sole discretion, for reasons I hope you can appreciate. With 2,269 threads, 8,648 posts and 2,755 registered members, I believe it is fair to assume that it works.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    You know, this is getting ridiculous!!!! I've got a problem with my Atomic 4.
    The boat's been immobilized for over a year. I'm trying to get some help from other members.

    Since last Monday I've been trying to get your website to communicate with other members. NO LUCK!

    you keep telling me to register. I've been registered for 2 years and re-registered again on Monday. Still nothing!!!!!

    I'm getting fed up with this. The website says I have 8 replies. How nice! But where in the hell are they??????

      I see what you mean, Bill.

      The forums DO work. I read/post several times a day. So do dozens of other people.
