    Cleaning behind water jacket

for installation of the ss kit via JB weld.

I am dealing with junk and gasket sealant in the areas I need to have cleared to be able to allow JB weld to do it's thing when I install the SS kit. Does anybody have any tips/tricks to be able to clean the metal in the back of the jacket plate for this installation? Trying to think of ways to do it but all I end up doing is scraping it down with a small pick. It is hard to get anything behind there to scrape it down with sandpaper or something like that.

    Thanks!

I would use an emery board nail file. All it is is sandpaper glued to a tongue depressor.

Or a small, thin, fine file.

Or take a thin shim or strip of wood and stick some sandpaper to it, or just wrap the sandpaper around it.

I found that a 3” diameter wire brush fitted on the drill slips right in. Cleans up the back side in jig time.

Thanks! Didn't think about the wire brush on a drill. I was using one, but it is way too big for that. Maybe I can scrounge up a smaller one.

          Will-
I used the end of two different files and also a putty knife.
I will say a dose of patience is also needed.
