    Throttle cable bracket

My original throttle cable was clamped to a board that wiggled resulting in less-than-precise throttle control.

I have seen a bracket that attaches the cable directly to the engine. Is this a standard A4 part that I just don't have or an aftermarket part or should I just plan on fabricating one myself?

    Britton,

I'm not sure if this is the same bracket to which you're referring, but you can check out this product in our online catalog. This is a stainless version of the throttle bracket that Universal was providing for most of the 1970's.

      Thanks Don.

That isn't the bracket I have seen before but it will do admirably.

I ordered this bracket last week and I was looking into installing it.
(very nice item by the way)

I had assumed it mounted to the engine itself but I can't find any points to connect it to. Am I wrong? Does it mount to the engine or the surrounding hull structure?

          Britton,
I believe that attaches to the manifold on existing bolts. HTH.

            Britton,

Our throttle cable bracket mounts under the two upper 1/2" hex-headed bolts in the aft housing and extends out to the side so as to line up with the throttle arm on the carburetor.

I get it. I was thinking the bracket was in line with the cable and needed to connect along the side of the engine.

What you are saying is that it runs perpendicular to the cable across the back of the engine.

              Thanks.
