Direct read versus electric O.P. gauge - cockpit versus below

So my boat has a direct-read oil pressure gauge, with a 1/8" copper line connected to a fitting on the side of the block. For test-running the engine at home, I also bought an electric oil pressure gauge. So now I have both.

    So -

I'm thinking I'll keep one up in the cockpit, and the other down in the engine compartment.

So which one would you put in the cockpit, and which would you put down in the engine compartment - direct read versus electric - and why?

    Always looking to learn...

Electric in the cockpit, direct read in the engine compartment. Ease of installation.

Maybe I should clarify that the direct-read already is in the cockpit, with a several foot-long copper tube leading up to it.

I was thinking of pulling it out, shortening the tube, putting it down in the engine compartment, and sticking the electric in the cockpit where the direct-read currently is.

Any reason to prefer one over the other? It will be interesting to see if they give the same reading.
