cooling liquid don't return in heat exchanger

When I run the engine, some cooling liquid is transfered to a plastic tank. Normaly, when the engine is cooling down, the liquid is supposed to return to the heat exchanger but it don't. Any suggestion?

Perhaps the tube in the plastic tank has slipped out of the liquid and is just sucking air back as the engine cools.

My thought is that you might be pulling air into the system from somewhere. With things cool, pull the cap on the heat exchanger and see if that's full.

When the coolant isn't drawn back into heat exchanger or radiator it is generally an indication of a leak in the system, You could pressurize the cooling system to find the leak. Check the radiator cap first. It must be a double sealed cap.
