Fuel pump orientation

I have recently converted my A4 to an electric Facet pump - using Don's bracket. Is there a preferred orientation for the pump? Should the inlet be on the top or the bottom.

I assume the best way to make sure fuel is making it to the carb is to open the drain on the float bowl?

I do not know if it matters. But I use the advertising, name to guide me. IMHO most products want you to be able to read there name. That is how mine is installed. If it is easier to disconnect the line into the carb you can test for flow at that point. The drain in the bowl will let you know it is getting by the float valve also. Dan S/V Marian Claire
