Hi,
After 10 years or so of living with Atomic 4's in two different sailboats, we've come across a newer used diesel that we will be repowering with this fall.
Hence, our current Atomic 4 is for sale and will be available approximately Oct 1st and, a couple of years ago we acquired and rebuilt an atomic 4 as a spare. That rebuilt engine is available now.
Both engines are raw water cooled but I have a fresh water cooling system available too. Is complete except does not have the double sheeve crank pulley for the second pump.
Our non-rebuilt engine had a valve job done about 4 years ago by the PO of the boat. She runs very smoothly and reliably. She has an aftermarket external thermostat that is fantastic. She's our daily driver. Has about < 200 hours since the valve job. She smokes a teeny bit and if I was keeping it I would do a quick ring and bearing job on her, but she is usable as-is.
The rebuilt engine had its head and crank sent off for checking. The crank was simply polished and went back in with new normal size main and rod bearings. The head was polished and a valve job completed. I assembled the engine two years ago and test ran it and then fogged it and its set ever since.
Both engines have the standard 1:1 reversing gear.
Both engines are in Central Maine and can be crated and arranged for truck freight for you.
Please let me know if you are interested.. michael at michaelcyr . com
Thanks!
