Since I replaced my cutlass recently, I am going to repack the stuffing box
I got some 1/4 flax from a local supplier which was unwaxed and very dry .
It did not fit well. I also had a small amount of older waxed what appeared to
be of a smaller diameter. I don't know if the dry stuff was an older style but
the waxed is preferable due to sealing together as well as clinging to
the shaft better while cutting it.
I would like to know styles, mfr and place to buy the good stuffing?
I am aware of the proper cutting angle to promote sealing.
Thanks
