Ran a bit without oil...

This year, starting the engine up for the first time, I noticed a really nasty rattle coming from the engine. After calling a buddy over, he said it was the connecting rods, and I had no oil pressure.

Sure enough, the oil was low. I'd probably left it low when I did the oil change at haulout.

So, the question is: how bad is this, running without much oil for a bit? I've since noticed my pressure is low (at least I noticed that), so I'm adjusting it higher as much as I can.

We won't know for sure until you get the pressure adjusted with good oil in the crankcase. The Atomic 4 is pretty resilient in this regard, so I wouldn't give up hope for a complete recovery.
