Engine shuts down

Seeking advice from other Atomic 4 owners:

Problem: Engine starts, runs for a short period and shuts down, will start again runs for approx 30-40 seconds and shuts down again, will start again etc., i.e, pattern is repeated. Engine will not remain running. Theories: electric fuel pump is defective dirt and/or water in fuel.

Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.

Rob,

Your symptoms are very consistent with a defective fuel pump. If your tank is slightly higher than the engine, enough fuel will typically drain into the carburetor for a few seconds of running.
