    delco or prestolite distributor?

can someone tell me how I tell if my A4 has a delco or prestolite distributor? I want to order the electronic ignition from moyer, but my mechanic has let me down for the last time, and I'm not even willing to ask his advice.

One thing to look for is how the cap is held on. The Delco distributors have screws holding the cap on, while the Prestolites use clips to hold their caps on.

Thanks, buddy, I'll check it out when I go down this morning to install the a4, that is telling me I've got the delco, I'm 99% sure.

It it is a '76, you most likely have the delco. People mix parts all the time, though, so it never hurts to look.

If any of you are ever in South Carolina (or Atlanta, its only about a 90 min drive fr Atl), give me a shout and come out and see the club, really a nice setup for a 'small' lake...lol we have about 140 slips, 35 acres leased from the COE, very active racing program, great sailing education program, and above all great comaraderie...as long as they eventually start raising the water level we'll all be happy...lol
