    Rusty Spark Plugs

    Does this happen to you?

After installing new spark plugs, they develop rust on the silver metal exposed part within a month or so.

While not fatal, it sure is annoying, especially when changing to new spark plugs, being careful not to get any of the rust crud falling into the open cylinder.

Any solution to this annoying problem?

Mine stay pretty clean for the season (Champion RJ8J) or longer, no rust but they due turn a dull silvery color. Check for sepage aroung the thermostat housung or the alternator bracket. I do spray the top of the motor with WD-40 and wipe it down every few months, that may help keeop them clean.
Do you run your blower while operating, it also helps to keep the engine box vented better, I've been told.
