When I take out any of my plugs I get good compression for the first one or two storkes then nothing.
The engine ran great when I put her away last winter but after I finnally put her in the water early July the engine always starts the same way.
After alot of cranking the engine starts, runs very rough, backfires, and dosn't seem to be running on all cylinders. Then after about 1 min. the engine just starts to purr and I have plenty of power. If we motor for a while, shutdown to sail for 1 hour, the engine fires right back up.
I think the valves are sticking then free up as I crank, I am using straight 30 oil.
Suggestions?
