    Zinc in heat exchanger

    Here's the zinc in our new heat exchanger after the first season. It's about 80% of its new shape. Change it or re-use it for another season?

    Change it. Once they start to go they go fast. You can get just the
    zinc part and save the additional $5 for the brass fitting.

    Part of my maintenance cycle is a zinc change every other oil change. I also
    tighten up all the engine mounting bolts--don't want my hard-won alignment
    to get out of whack.
