Some of you may remember that I recently replaced a newer style A-4 with an older style. Completely successful, given gracious advice and parts from Moyer Marine.
Now the 55 amp alternator (single wire) in the replacement engine seems dead. I have the other Motorola (two wire) that I could swap, but the second wire goes into the Delco Distributor on the original new style -- and I have Prestolite on the replacement old style.
The question is: can I use the Motorola in an old style Prestolite A-4; and if so, where should I connect the second wire?
Thanks as always,
Jim Martin
