    grease cup, water pump issues

Hey all. I am in the final stages of reassembling my motor. I look carefully at everything. When replacing my impeller i was looking down the tube to see how the greese comes out. No matter how hard i twisted it, none came out. I took the grease cup off and attempted to free it up but it seemed like cement. Since my drill press was right beside me i drilled a hole through it.
I realize now it was a check valve probally all gummed up. My question is... how critical is the check valve . Can I go a head without it or do I need a new one for about 50 bucks and another week by the time it gets hereThanks for reading

You need the check valve, but could get away without one for a short time.

Consider replacing the cup with a remote greasing kit from Moyer. I liked the one I installed and the cost isn't much different from buying a new cup.
