Hi all.
I'm a new guy. We recently bought a 1969 Pearson 35 with a 1980 A4 engine. It has a Motorola alternator which I assume is original equipment or identical to original equipment. Our surveyor was concerned that it might not be ignition protected and he was unable to determine this. I don't recall this ever being a problem on my father's Triton 40 years ago, but it's a brave new world now.
Does anyone know if these old Motorola alternators were ignition protected or know any way I can tell by observation?
Thanks for any info.
Mark S
