    maintance on 502 pump

Are there any rules of thumb with regards to maintaining the 502 fresh water pump, like number of hours then replace impeller and so on?
    Thanks Harv.

      Harv,

We've been seeing somewhat better service life from impellers in both our MMI pumps (the 501 and 502 models) due to the machined-in cam shoe, so we are cautiously recommending that our historic recommendation of replacing impellers every two seasons can be increased to replacement after every 3 seasons - as long as water quality is not a factor. If a pump ingests an unusually high amount of sediment etc, then impeller wear (as well as pump wear in general) will be increased.
