    Hello....is this thing on???

So, I guess this means the new forum is up and running? I went to www.moyermarineforum.com and here I am.

    Happy New Year to everyone!

Yes, it seems we are up and running.
It seems to be the same forum format, but all I've done is read and post. I guess the web site was updated, not the forum.
Are there any differences in the forum now?
If anyone finds any changes (which I don't think there are) please post them so we all know.

The forum should be a carbon copy of the original. If anyone spots otherwise, please let us know. The only change is the address. The links on the website should redirect you to the new forum address.

After some 13 years, we weren't about to lose this.

The balance of the website, including the online store, will be updated shortly

Man (and a few ladies), it sure is quiet when our boats are put away for the winter!!

We need our southern friends to keep things going 'til Spring!

BTW - moyermarine.com/forums/index.php seamlessly redirects to the new URL.

              Chilly here, too

Shawn, not much better here in South Carolina -- 11° F here this AM - not the best boating weather !

29 here in Louisiana. Never thought I would have to drain my motor, but I did just in case.

Hellfire, if you're over zero, you're in a better place than I am. It was minus 17 this morning and only "climbed" to 7 by the "heat of the day". I hadn't planned on keeping my boat inside this winter, but at this rate I may just have to see how I can plan my way around it staying where it is.

Bob, -28C is about -18 F, but either way, how the hell can you consider that chilly?

All joking aside, the wife moved me north 25 years ago, lived in Miami and Atlanta before then, and I've STILL not adjusted to the cold. These temps are what you store ice cream at, not try and live in!

I have the opposite problem. I went from living in NY to SW Florida. Below zero was common and I enjoyed it. The heat here kills me. I worked on the boat all summer. It was 95 every day! I drank at least a gallon of water and sweated that out. I always say that I can put more clothes on, but I cant take any more off....

I'm originally from Jamaica, so the hot summers are nice...but you slowly (after 40 years to so ) do get sort of used to the cold....
Of course the weather outlook fir the next few days has us with minus 42 windchills...that getting cold.....
Ps minus 40 is I believe the same in both F or C ..

I hear it is warmer than here, with the polar vortex presently shifted....

edit - Present temps are 28°F in Homer, AK..In California, MD where I am, it is 18°F with lows going to 9°F tonight.

I am burning thru some pellets in my pellet stove. About 35-40# per day presently..I started the season with 2300 lbs. and have about 1100lbs left. I did figure out today how to empty the ash pan without turning the stove off!! (i.e. quickly!!)
However, the cats are warm , the wife is warm, and the house was 71°F today when I came inside from shoveling the driveway!
