    Diesel to gasoline

I'm installing an A4 where there was once a diesel (self-destructed). I've drained the tank of diesel fuel, but I'm sure there is some fuel oil left in there. Will there be a problem with the A4 carburetor or engine if I simply fill the tank with fresh gasoline and leave whatever diesel fuel to mix in? I don't really know the amount, but I guess there is probably 1/2 to 1 gallon of diesel in a 25 gal. tank. I'm hoping that this is similar to mixing oil with gas for a 2-cycle engine. I have a Racor filter.
    Thanks.

    Jayw,

I can only say that the Atomic 4 is quite forgiving for a bit of diesel fuel mixed in with gasoline. While I can't vouch for your particular recipe, if you simply can't get any more diesel fuel out of the tank, I'd be inclined to give it a try. My guess is that the worst case you face might be a bit of smoke in the exhaust for a while.
