Pertronix distributor

I note in the parts list that there is a module which replaces the factory installed module in the Pertronix distributor.

Does anyone know in what year or what serial number the Pertronix distributer became standard issue on the A4?

I don't think it ever was.

Prestolite was original, then Delco.

Petronix is aftermarket.

I just replaced my Prestolite with a Petronix. Wow. Just awesome.

Gettin' clear info.

Mike< the Pertronix is an after market E/I kit, as is the Indigo kit. They just mount inside the early Prestolite or later Delco distributor.

Parts are available for both of the E/I's.
