74 Ericson 27

Hello!

After years of sailing, and no boat of my own, I took the leap and bought a pretty well maintained ericson 27 with a recently rebuilt Atomic 4. Been having some issues, mainly excessive white stuff coming out the exhaust, and some stumbling and dying under load.

Have attributed to the stumbling and dying to bad fuel. After pulling a bunch of bad gas out, and adding good stuff, seems to run well.

The smoke or vapor remains a problem.

I'm sure i'll be getting to know all of you very well over the coming years

Maybe the "bad fuel" had some KRAP in it some of which is now lodged in the carburetor and you are running a bit rich. Does your engine start easily with little or no choke?
What fuel filters are you using?
