hello all,
This summer I bought a tired but sound Columbia 36 with the nuclear power option. I live in Fairbanks, Alaska but my new boat is in Homer, 700 miles due south. After some struggles with the ignition , we got her goin'. A pronounced clack-clack-clackity clack-clack from the upper block comes and goes as the engine speed goes up. And a squeaky-groan from the reduction gear at exactly shaft speed is rather bothersome you know, while trying we enjoys the beverage to listen honorably to Bob Marley.
I know a little about old flatheads and it seems time to yard this one out(literally)and "fix 'er a bit".
I'll post an actual question soon.
greeting again from Ak.
