Stewart Warner oil pressure gauge electrical

I have what is probably the original oil gauge. It does not go to zero when the power shuts off, it seems to register the correct pressure which I checked with another mechanical gauge installed directly on the motor. I've installed a new sender from Moyer but the gauge still sticks. Should I install a new gauge?

    Thanks for the input.

I think you'll find that the gauge is not designed to return to zero when power is shut off. I installed all new SW gauges last year and the installation instructions came with the warning that the pointer needles do not return to zero when shut off, but they should read correctly when power is switched on.

Great, thanks for the information. Based on what you stated and my testing my gauge works correctly and I will leave it alone and save my $60.00.
