The rigging is still pretty simple. The boat loves 20+ knots of wind and big waves. Let me know when you need some help.

        Welcome Aboard Rick:

Be happy to help you out with that boat and motor...and she will be easier to handle than your 22. You are in for a bit of a treat when spring comes.

The reason you got such a response is we are all digesting turkey and loafing around at home in a post Xmas stupor. I'm gonna stop eating for a week!

The gang is right—good looking engine you have there. Detailing it will tell you many things that are a little shaky. You can fix them along the way as your scrub brush knocks loose the rusty hose clamps etc. and reveals the little stuff.

                  new photo album

I posted about half the pics I took this week in my photo album on this site. Figured that'd be easier than posting here.

Take a look at that exhaust... It doesn't appear to be a water lift, but it's not dry either. Seems to be some sorta reverse flow HX/ muffler set-up.

                  Thoughts?

                  Thanx, Rick

Your exhaust is a standpipe. There's been much discussion around here recently about them. You should find a wealth of information by searching the forum.

                        Rick,

Welcome to the forum. I've looked at your pictures and was immediately drawn to the accordion-style hot exhaust coming off your manifold. I had looked for something of this nature about a year ago and came up empty handed.

Do you (or does anyone) have any information on this type of pipe, such as material, appropriateness and availability??

Sorry to resurrect this old post...I figured it was the best place to post.

I just plunked down half-a-large for what I consider 'tune-up' parts.

I'll be pulling the carb, fuel pump, and distributor next weekend and bringing them home for spring preps.

While I'm down on Anchovy, I'll give the requisite squirts of MMO. Speaking of MMO, I remember an Engines instructor I had at Lincoln Tech back in the early '80's extolling the virtues of MMO! Haven't heard anyone mention the product since until I got here.

And yes, I did buy the manual!

I'll keep you posted on the appropriate thread.
