Thank you guys!
I don't have a shop crane, so I will build a wood stand like Bill said - to move the motor around the shop...but also for taking the flywheel, tranny etc off the motor...and then mount it on motor stand to take the oil pan off.....and get to pushrods...inspect the crankshaft etc...have to rebuild the water pump too...
Yes Shawn - I remember the pickup crane idea ..this workout much better

2dogs...I'd love to. But, I am in Maryland...so, it probably won't happen for a while. Are the PT Watercraft people anywhere near you? Here's a link - http://ptwatercraft.com/ptwatercraft/Welcome.html
I REALLY want to build one of their 11ft. nesting dinghies..if I didn't have 8 million projects in front of it.-Shawn

whenever you are in the area, you are welcome to stop by!
....we are about two hrs drive from Port Towsend....nice little town
I like this nesting dinghie!!! They have nice motorboat too
But the sailing version speaks to me.....still miss my Boalboa....sooner or later I will get something in 21' range...light trailer sailer, easy to store and launch.....don't like the outboards hanged from the transom though!!...we have one forum member putting A4 in 25 Cape Dory prabably for the same reason
.......one of my favorites is 25' Coronado...they have motor well for the outboardLast edited by 2dogsnight; 05-06-2013, 10:30 AM.

If you are going to be out and not carrying heavy loads etc....shoot a can of expanding foam insultation into it. Clean-up would require running (beating) a pipe through it later ... the exact ID.Mo

You can buy an expanding rubber plug that will fit the hole. Like the kind used on lots of small aluminum boats. Here is one such:
McMaster Carr Page: Tapered Expansion Plug
If you don't like that option, try one of these other types:
