    The Price of Fuel

Unconfirmed, but from a presumably reliable source:

Premium gasoline at a Kent Island marina (home to mostly powerboats on the Chesapeake Bay) now going for $6.00 a gallon.

      Ouch! $$$$$+

A P/B friend of mine said he spent $5.40 in Huntington Harbor two weeks ago.
I pay pump prices and lug it when needed.

I always buy from the station and jerry can it. It's cheaper, quicker, and, I hope, fresher. The fuel dock in my marina sells diesel much more than gas.

It's $4.20 at the nearby Shell station.

Joe, I got word from a buddy about my local AvGas...he says it is a no brainer...so I may try that this summer. Last summer I think I managed to burn 12 or 15 whole gallons of fuel!

              Wait for it.

Where I am the gas is 1.32 per liter. 1.32 x 4.78 = $6.30 per gallon. Speculators are making a killing...I hope they loose their shirts....slow learners.

Maurice..I don't think they will...Oil is a finite resource...we use way more than is being produced naturally (as we all know) - you cannot go wrong investing in oil. It will never get cheaper.

Heard an oil industry analyst on CNBC say that $100/barrel oil is here to stay. It may get a little more expensive, maybe a little cheaper, but we can say goodbye to the days of $40/b and $50/b oil....

oil...... Around 98 it dropped from about 40 a barrel to 7 a barrel ..I bought a bit. Took a few years for it to go back up. Then 40 a barrel was high...then 80...90 and 100....and we found more oil than ever, capped the wells and said nothing about them.... Canada and the US has more oil than they are saying. They drill and cap the wells. Russia has more than both of us, and Venezuela put together...there is lots of oil...it just doesn't pay to produce it ....supply and demand. Russia has the largest oil deposits in the world, Canada is second....and people think the Middle East is oil mecca...only because so much has been invested there.

Trust me, the worst is yet to come. We have an economy just barely surviving on BS and paper...yes in Canada too.

I don't have a dime in oil anymore..all in shipping. All the goods that comes and goes off our shores has to be done with ships...and it's allot of stuff.

As for oil the keel could come out of her tomorrow. Part of the world might (as it has) endure a recession, but the country's that are surviving it and still producing all have to ship their goods...might as well be on that.......

Biggest reason we sold the big powerboat and went back to sail. Now my problem is finding a small enough jerry can...
