    Carb Mess

While preparing for the season, my Atomic 4 (late model) would not start. After some basic troubleshooting, I discovered that the feul pump was working, but that I could not smell gas after repeated tries to start it. I took off the carburator to find the venturi area full of a brown liquid (water) with sediment in it. I've had the boat for 10 years and never had a problem, is this a sign of a more serious problem?

Your water is probably not a sign of any major problem. I would clean it out and get the engine started as soon as possible. My guess is that you may have had a bit of water get in via the exhaust system while the engine was not starting.
