Bought boat, long trip ahead.

We just bought a 1973 Catalina 27. It has the Atomic 4 gas engine. We live up the Maurice River from the Delaware Bay and the boat is in Bristol,PA. We have to move the boat within a couple weeks(+/- 90 miles). The engine runs and sounds pretty good.(to me) I'm not sure of what, if any work has been done on it.

Before our long trip to bring it home, what should we do to the engine before we shove off? What should we look for, listen for or feel for on the motor? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
