If they are compatible with Champion J8 or RJ12C plugs they should work.
I have used some cross referenced Bosch plugs in a pinch but I mostly try to use the Champion RJ12C or one of the Autolite models but there are a ton of compatible spark plugs listed here:
I have also used Autolite 437's to good effect - hotter than RJ12C supposedly.

A4 and boat are from 1967 -
Greg, those plugs work great in my Tohatsu 3.5 dinghy motor.
I ran my A-4 on Champion RJ12C's for over 35 years and absolutely no trouble and I mean absolutely none.
