    Fuel Pump and filter

I and my partner purchased our Tartan 30 5 years ago. Every season I tune the engine myself and it has worked very reliably. This year it didn't start. I rechecked all my work and it was fine. I then looked at the carb and fuel pump filter, when I took the sedment bowl off there was no screen or filter!
Much to my embrassment I have never looked at that part of the engine before. In my own defense the engine has been working fine and I assumed there was a filter in the bowl. ( it wasn't easy admitting that to the mechanic)
    Questions ---
    1. where can I get a new filter - I couldn't find one on your site)

    2. To fix the problem the carb and the fuel pump will need to be cleaned out.

My only salve is that painful lessons are always remember!

    Agh,

No need to be embarrassed. There were no filters in the original fuel pump sediment bowls. We find one now and then in our rebuilding operation but they were an aftermarket product. You can find the screen in the fuel section of our online catalog with a product number of FPMP_10.1_302.
