Need Drive Train Atomic 4 V- Drive

Does anyone out there have a V-Drive housing/gear box and a V-Drive reversing gear assembly they would like to sell for an Atomic 4?

I saw that ad on eBay too - I'm not sure what he's selling there? Looks like a housing for a reduction gear, but the gear cluster looks wrong. Doesn't the tailshaft for the reduction gear have a spline? I also see parts for the accessory drive. I'd tread real easy with that auction..

Thanks for the welcome, just getting started in the sailboat world. I am quickly learning what I don't know or even what to expect, looking like cash is a much needed piece of the puzzle

A boat is a hole in the water into which one pours money.

Yeah..for sure listen to the advice here. I simply ebay searched..I have a direct drive A-4, so I am not up to speed on reduction gears and V-drives.

Maybe Ed will also chime in..he has a v-drive in his Pearson.

Yes, on a vDrive-equipped A4, the reversing -gear assembly does have a splined tailshaft, as can be seen below. Note the lack of an end-plate or shaft coupler. The little rectangular plate is a temp "keeper" for the bearing that is removed before attaching the vDrive.
