    Full throttle transmission disengages

Hi all. I'm a newbie here. I've a Cal 29 That is new to me and was running back to port and decided to see how things went at full throttle. When open 7/8 of the way all good but pushed to the stops the engine rpms suddenly went up dramatically and I throttled back. All seemed good. I repeated this test one more time with the same result and did same thing in the slip when moored securely.
Ideas? Everything else seems fine with the engine.

Time for a trans adjustment. It's simple to do but be careful not to loose or screw up the adjusting nut holding screw-pin. The clutches are slipping.

How clean is the prop? A dirty prop will loose it's bite on the water and spin like this.
Also you may over or under propped. My over propped Cat 27 did this all the time. A dirty prop made the situation worse.

I never did the trany adjustment - never knew how. Give the adjustment a try and see what happens.
