Shaft coupling question

Hi Folks, the clearances in my prop aperture are such that there is no way to pull the prop without either pulling the rudder, which I am loath to do, or remove the shaft from the coupling and push the shaft as far forward as possible.
My question is, how much will I gain by doing this?

Depends on how far the shaft was installed into the coupling before things were locked up. If the coupling was installed properly, you're looking at perhaps 1/8" - 1/4" max.
What are you using for a prop puller? There are designs that come in from the side rather than the end.
