Don:
Thanks for the information made available by you and the contributors to this forum. After researching the forum for my symptom of the engine stalling when I instantly go from stop to full throttle, I determined that my main jet adjustment must be adjusted too lean.
I made adjustments today and now it works great. I normally do not accelerate quickly, but sometimes in tight slip maneuvering I need to. It is a real disappointment when the engine dies when in this position.
A note to others who may have a similar symptom. In neutral I did not have a stalling problem if I revved it quickly. Also in gear, if I throttled up slowly I could run at hull speed with no problems, but occasionally there would be a slight flutter until the engine was fully warmed. Also I turned the idle to a slightly richer setting an it now idles very smoothly in gear at 800 rpm. Before I needed to stay at 1000 rpm when idling in gear.
