    "Off topic, On Target"

Yesterday I had the distinct honor of being able to spend a few hours with "N Dutton" (Neil) aboard his A4 powered, Catalina 30, "Kalina". From the gold colored engine (on topic) and througout his impeccably restored version of of the Cat 30, his talents are well well documented. I came away from our "gab" session with renewed enthusiasm about getting back to work on my own copy of that beloved boat. Thank's again Neil, and have a great holiday season.

I'll follow the off-topic lead but only briefly. Tom left me a CD of pictures that I'll start posting for him as soon as I digest it a little. In particular, watch for the most innovative timing system I've ever seen and a new take on coolant flow. Good stuff.

Thanks for the compliment Tom, enjoyed the visit as well.

I painted my A4 Buick Blue, and black...all brass parts are clean. Once my fuel problem is fixed, I'll give the little puppy a name...maybe "Willy."

                engine bronze

I found a hi-temp bronze metallic engine spray paint at Advance Auto Parts.
I don't have access to the paint can to give the color number but I can tell you it is a near perfect match to the original and can stand 650 degrees plus.

I finally voted in this poll because today (drumroll in my head) I began painting my mill. Moyer bronze , but with bright red on a few parts that require frequent attention : dipstick , oil fill cap , and the little grease cup on the water pump. Very nice to be putting things back together.

                  Gotta learn to post pictures!

I actually voted differently when this poll first came out......I think the original color was how I voted. But I am going to leap out there with those other 8 nuts and choose white this time.
                      Why you ask?
First, I can see the motor way more better down in that dang hole it sits in. Anything to brighten up the area down there. Especially when you occasionally drop stuff.
Second, any issues like oil leaks, water leaks, etc. will be easier to spot.
Third, I already bought the paint.

What made this thread resurface? Not that there's anything wrong with that!

By now, most people here probably know what my color choice is.

I would post another pic, but I don't want to catch any grief for it.
