Next , the engine oil is shared with the clutch/transmition? Since the engine is in the reverse of most installs, ( see pic I hope this goes), there is a breather right over the clutch,just like the one over the flywheel on the other end of the engine, can I add the oil here ?
The engine oil is shared between the engine and the "transmission" (it's actually not a full transmission, just a reversing gear). The oil is NOT, however, shared with the V-drive.
Engine oil can be added via the breather cap located on the rectangular reversing-gear cover. Much easier than trying to get to the flywheel end of the engine.
The v-drive has a small knobbed cap that is the dipstick for it's oil. Oil can be added via this dipstick hole. The V-drive only holds about a pint. It should be filled with one of the following:
Thanks Ed, that is what I needed to hear. It just did not make any sense to me
engine and trans case same oil. Vee drive I thought about it but could not get any pics of it to see where it goes.
