    Launch Day

Darn, as fate would have it, that's the day Whippet gets dunked into Lake Ontario for the season start.

It would have been my pleasure to see you all including Neil who's flying in from the left coast. Gee, his arms will be tired.

You've all been a big help to me over the years and I'm thankful every time she purrs to life when I hit the starter.

      MMI Meet and Greet

Wow! A mere 120 miles to combine the Annapolis sailing scene, the renowned Cantler's cuisine and most importantly, a chance to personally meet the MMI team (lifesavers) and fellow A-4 cultists. Almost too good to be true. My wife and I will definitely be there.

Thank you for working to plan this event.

        MMI Meet and Greet

I just started my first Atomic 4 rebuild today, so wish this were sooner. I plan on being at the boat show, so will plan on being there for this meet and greet too. I'll hopefully be bringing stories about completing my build!

          The MMI Cofee mug

Wow, sounds like some real fun to me. I would attend if I were near the area but that is just not the case. I would be very interested and I no longer have an A-4 to brag about!!!!!!!!

Just last week I was on the dock with the new boat and a neighbor and I began talking. He noticed my "MMI Coffee Cup" with coffee (and a splash of rum Edward) and he commented on the cup and the A-4 as a bomb. Well I looked right back at him as we were talking about my B-393. He commented how lucky I was to have a diesel and no A-4 and never really wondered why "I" would have such a cup. I told him how much my wife does not like the "stink" of the new boat and I was working out a plan to install 2 A-4's for power and reliability without the stink.

He was clueless on engines in general and I tried convincing him of the track record of the A-4 and he was certainly surprised at how many and how long so many are still running. It surprised him and he walked away kinda shaking his head as to my so called future power plants~pretty funny really.

You guys have fun! I have enjoyed meeting quite a few "Afourian''s" over the last many years.

Dave you need to be careful what you say you might give Neil ideas. Visions of TOMMY IVEO and his 4 engine dragster. Sounds like the new boat is working out good??

Uh, that would be TV Tommy Showboat Ivo, yes? And yeah, it was just Dave's turn and I'm sure it wasn't the first time. We've all run into diesel snobs running their mouths when they don't have any idea what they're talking about.

As for cabin diesel odors, my Perkins didn't smell at all because I chased all the fuel leaks before I installed her and replaced all the banjo washers as a precaution.

Anybody going to the Annapolis Boat Show on Friday April 28? I'm thinking about it.

                Damn!
This is a get together I would really like to attend!
I would even cut work to fly over and attend...

...except, I have a job that starts on the 28th in KONA.
                Hard to turn that down.

I'll hoist a mai tai to you guys.

I had a cup of coffee in my MMI Coffee Cup today, Dave! (no rum, however) we just had our sailing club's annual awards banquet and I'd had plenty last night.

I do look forward to seeing and meeting everyone that can attend!

Would love to make this. I'm sure it would be quite the learning opportunity.

Put me down for a "maybe".
Current scuttlebutt is that we will be halfway to Bermuda with a tow on that date but things always change.

Well many thanks to Dan (Marian Claire) for giving me the heads-up about this, since I don't make the time much anymore to hang out and browse all the threads here.

It's about a 3-hour drive, maybe slightly less, from my home in Richmond, VA.

I've put it on my calendar!

Roger that. The question is are any of them any good?

I've been trying to tone it down lately. Most of the threads are supported so well there's really nothing much I can add. See you in April. Wifee too?
