    Another reminder

I received a PM today from a member asking an electronic ignition question:
I have had electronic ignition for some time, have always applied the voltage/current/resistance formula and have had a trouble free system. I am now about to order an MMI coil. Can I do away with the resistor with the new coil or do I still need to apply the formula?
My reply advised him to ALWAYS apply the formula regardless of where the new coil came from and that included MMI. Specifications change, supply lines change, vendors change. The only way to be certain the ignition will remain reliable is to check it out for yourself.

Electronic ignition is no longer a mystery on this forum but it is up to you to apply what we have learned.
